2006年6月11～14日，本所罗迎社教授、余敏老师出席了在本省湘潭市盘龙山庄大酒店召开的第五届先进材料科学与技术国际学术会议（The 5th International Forum on Advanced Material Science and Technology，简称IFAMST5），并作了题为“Numerical Simulation and its application of rheological forming of titanium alloy vane disk”的口头学术报告。与此同时，罗迎社教授分别于13日下午和14日上午被安排担任“Analyses, Test & Evaluation of Materials”分会场和“Processing and Design of Materials”分会场主席。
